Ingredients

  • MEAT
  • 1 package Eckrich Smoked Sausage, split lengthwise
 
  • PRODUCE
  • 1 12 oz bag frozen breaded green tomato, sliced
  • Small dill pickles, optional
  • Cherry peppers, optional
 
  • DAIRY
  • 1 tub pimiento cheese spread
 
  • PANTRY
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 8 slices Texas toast, bakery loaf, or brioche bread. Thickly sliced

Preparation

  1. LIGHTLY BROWN: Sausage in large nonstick skillet over medium heat (3-5 minutes per side). Remove and set aside warm.
  2. HEAT OIL, FRY: Tomatoes in nonstick skillet until crispy (3-5 minutes per side). Remove and place on paper towel.
  3. SPREAD: Pimiento cheese on four slices of bread.
  4. ASSEMBLE: Pimiento cheese, sausage, fried tomatoes and remaining bread slices.
  5. CROWN: Yourself as the green tomato fry master.
